Lose Fat by Eating Fat?

Lose fat by eating fat? We now know that saturated fats which are found in meats and high fat dairy products and trans fats which are found in fried foods, cakes, and margarine are the bad guys. What are saturated fats, mono unsaturated fats, etc exactly anyway? Fat itself is not bad . Too much fat can be harmful. Being overweight can lead to higher risks of heart disease, diabetes and cancers and too much of the bad fats can increase heart attacks and artery blockages.

Bad fats are in a lot of the processed foods that we eat. Trans fats are also referred to as trans fatty acids. Lards and margarine both have trans fat in them as well.

Unsaturated fat are the good guys. They are the mono unsaturated fats and polyunsaturated fats. Mono unsaturated fats are found in olive oils and avocados and most nuts. Polyunsaturated fats are in vegetable oils such as corn, soy, safflower and sunflower oils.

All three of these fats are good for you and your heart. Researchers have proven that people that included these fats in their diets were able to lose small amounts of weight without changing calorie intake just by adding these fats into their diets.
